What is TEAMS?

• TEAMS = Tests of Engineering Aptitude, Mathematics, and Science

• A national STEM competition for middle & high school students

• Teams of 2–4 students solve real engineering challenges

• No experience necessary—just curiosity and teamwork

Why participate?

• Hands-on Design/Build challenge

• Real-world engineering + creative problem solving

• Multiple-choice + mathematical modeling problem sets

• Research-based team essay

• Build confidence in STEM and strengthen collaboration skills

• Chance to earn recognition at the state level—and possibly nationals in Washington, D.C.

Competition timeline:

• Practices begin in late Dec or early January

• District Competition Monday, February 9, 2026

• Top teams move on to the National TEAMS Competition (June 22–26, 2026)
