Every year, McNally selects two students (in grade 11 or 12) to represent the school at the EPSB Student Senate, a body of students selected by other high schools across the district.
Student Senators have the opportunity to discuss subjects that affect our school experience, and based on these conversations, take action by initaiting projects and advising the district's Board of Trustees.
This year, the Student Senate (made up of about 40 senators) collected feedback through a form open to all students in the division. Based on the results, senators voted to focus on the subject "Amplifying the Voices of BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) Students".
After much brainstorming, senators then voted to focus on three different projects to achieve the above vision. They will be working on a magazine, a podcast, and a workshop/club package to share with division students.
