The Steele Heights Academic Enrichment Program is designed to provide academic extension for strong, motivated students. Students are given opportunities to extend their understanding beyond the Alberta curriculum and develop a foundation of academic skills that will propel them into life-long learning. Students from this program will often go into the International Baccalaureate or Advanced Placement programs in high school. To register please use the form on our school webpage.
The Strategies Program supports students with learning disabilities whose intelligence is measured as average to above average and who have significant academic delays. Learning disabilities are complex and can vary from person to person, requiring flexible instruction that meets each student’s unique needs. This program requires an assessment for entry. Connections Program supports students displaying chronic, extreme and pervasive behaviours. Students require close and constant adult supervision and a high level of structure to function in an educational setting. This program requires an assessment for entry. The Interactions Program supports students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Students are given intensive support learning communications strategies, positive social relationships as well as literacy and numeracy.
