I have had the pleasure of working with the Hardisty Logos program since 2015. I am so thankful I can share my passion for God and my passion for teaching every day with my students. I love watching students grow in their faith, relationships, and academics. While we weave God's word into all subjects, I especially enjoy our daily devotional times. Each day we read a devotional together and pray. As a class we share our prayer requests and praise reports. It is wonderful to hear how God has answered our prayers! Our class works together when it is our turn to create one of our school’s monthly chapels. For our 2021 Christmas Chapel, students took the Christmas story, read the scriptures as a group, and then created and performed a Reader's Theater Play! Our February service project saw students create a bookmark, with a scripture on the back, that was given out to a local Senior Centre as a way to bless them. "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). I am looking forward to partnering with you in your child's learning journey!
I first accepted Jesus into my heart when I was in grade four. I also received my first Bible at that time and read it from cover to cover! In high school I became a Sunday School teacher. My faith has always and will always be strong. God has blessed me and my family in countless ways and I see His work every single day. Teaching others about God's Word is one of the most fulfilling parts of my life. I enjoy sharing Devotionals with my students and I am a huge fan of "The Bible Project". However, my favourite time is prayer. We pray with and for each other. It is so very interesting and exciting to see how and when God answers prayers. My students also love Faith Day. This is a day that we take to really build on our faith by focusing on a theme, with a variety of Bible verses and activities that help us to develop our faith. My students have told me that I am gentle and kind. Did you know that every time you say, “I am” you are including God in your life. He is, “I Am”. Exodus 3:14, “God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel, ‘I am has sent me to you.’”
One of my favourite things about teaching in the Logos program is the opportunity to share the joy of God's faithfulness with my students. God speaks to me primarily through scripture and music that reflects scripture, so I love sharing that with my students by listening to and discussing music and exploring Bible passages together. Outside of school, I serve God through various roles within my church and through camp ministry.
Hello! My name is Jordana Curtis and I feel so blessed to be a part of the Hardisty School Logos community. I accepted Jesus into my heart as a young girl and attended a Christian school from grade 3 through to grade 12. My passion has always been to teach and share the love of Jesus with children. While in High School I was given the opportunity to participate in a 2 week mission's trip to Mexico to work at a church and help in their children's ministry. Before attending university I was able to take a 3 month trip to Panama and volunteer in a local church and school, teaching Sunday school, English, and acting as an Educational Assistant. These trips confirmed in my heart that I wanted to serve the Lord through teaching and mentoring children. Since beginning teaching in the grade 1/2 Logos class at Hardisty we have begun a daily focus on how great God's love is for us and how we can practically show His love to those around us in our classroom and at recess. We participate in daily prayer and devotions with the highlight being "Worship Wednesday" where students sing and dance to Christian worship music. I cannot say enough about how great the logos community is and how wonderful it is to have the privilege to teach the children in the Hardisty community!
