Golf 

Season of Play

Seasons:

1) Competitive Season

   - The month of September

      a) Tryout Tournament - Usually held a Legends golf course during 2nd week back. Top 4 male and female golfers are chosen to represent Ainlay at zone championship tournament.

      b) Zone Tournament - Usually held during 3rd week of September (Top 3 golfers and top 2 teams qualify for Provincials)

         i) Boys Zone Tournament - Held at The Links Golf Course in Spruce Grove

         ii) Girls Zone Tournament - Held at Stony Plain Golf Course

     c) Provincial Tournament - Location varies from year to year.

           - a two day tournament at two different courses (Boys and Girls alternate courses on different days)

2) Tournament Season

    - The month of May

        a) Multiple tournaments hosted by other schools.

Selecting Teams

1) Competitive Team

     - This is done in September at the Legends Tryout Tournament hosted by Fort High (top 4 golfers)

2) Tournament Season (May)

    - This is done by student interest. Often students have never competed in a formal golf tournament. This is an opportunity for them to try tournament play.
