Centre High is designed to feel like a transition from high school to post-secondary or the world of work. It is specifically designed for 4th and 5th-year students to finish their diploma, upgrade marks, or take a "gap year" to explore future options without tuition fees.
Programming (in-person)
Academics
Full range of diploma courses for upgrading.
Career Pathways
Unique programs that combine high school credits with industry certification. A notable example is the Emergency Response Career Pathways (ERCP) for students interested in police, fire, or EMS.
Dual Credit
Students can earn both high school and post-secondary credits simultaneously by taking courses partnered with institutions like NAIT, NorQuest, and Olds College (e.g., Psychology, Health Care Aide, Veterinary Profession).
EAL
The program chosen for Centre High EAL students is based on their English proficiency. EAL students joining Centre High from other schools continue their programming based on the EAL classes already completed. New students are assessed and based on this initial assessment, they are placed in the program that best supports their proficiency.
