Using Chrome OS

Chrome Operating System

The Chrome OS is set up similarly to Windows and Mac computers, but with much less clutter. The main function of a chromebook is to be a direct link to the Internet using your Google account. Most applications used on a chromebook are actually located on the Internet, and not on the chromebook itself.

The Launcher

The Launcher is located on the bottom left of the desktop.

From here you can open a web app, or do a quick Google search.

The technology department may wirelessly install a new app on your chromebook during the school year. This is where you will find them.

The Shelf

The Shelf is located next to the Launcher, which is a taskbar of web apps that you will be using during the school year.

The settings are located on the bottom right side of the desktop.

You can access them by clicking on your user icon.

Here you can add a new Wifi network, and make simple changes to your device under the Settings menu.
