2nd Marking Period Book Report

1. Please use the following website as a guide for your book report: Book Report Close Reading

The actual assignment is: Close read 6 passages from your book: two from the beginning, two from the middle, and two from the end. Then create a thesis statement that shows your understanding of the novel. See the sample statement listed on the website. You are NOT writing the essay. You are only completing the close reading and the thesis statement.

2. Redesign the book cover. Front: Title, author's name, picture (original art or combination of pictures from internet or magazines. You may NOT use any artwork from the movie version or copy the original cover. Additionally, you cannot just print or use one picture as your entire cover). Back: Synopsis of the book, author information, and one "praise" comment from another source (can be made up or something you find online).

3. Movie Poster Rubric

You must also include a one page summary of your book. Please see rubric below for this book report choice.
