Dear Parents,
Welcome Back to School! I am very excited to be your child’s teacher for the 2022 – 2023 school year! I would like to take this opportunity to warmly welcome your child to my class and introduce myself. My name is Georgia Galati, I live in Fair Lawn with my husband and 2 kids. I graduated from William Paterson University with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Elementary Education. I have been teaching a combination of Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade for the past 16 years. This is my seventeenth year teaching and my sixth year teaching at Gilbert. I am excited to begin a new journey as your child’s teacher.
We will be back in the classroom this year. Our classroom desk will need to be facing forward and we will be wearing our mask! I will spend the first few days getting your child acclimated to my classroom by reviewing the routines, procedures, and behavior expectations. We will learn many new things this year! We will learn our letter sounds and how to blend the sounds into words. We will be able to read our sight words and on-level readers. We will write stories, patterned book and how-to books. We will explore Math, Science, & Social Studies through the use of technology and interactive student activities. There are many new exciting doors to open this year and parent support is the key to success. I know we will work together to make this year a memorable one!!!
To get this year off to a great start, I have listed some important reminders:
*The first day of learning for all kindergarten students will be: Wednesday, September 7, 2022. Please arrive at 8:35 a.m. (This will be a Half Day 12:50 dismissal for Kindergarten)
*Pack two snacks and a water in a lunch box with your child's name on the outside of the lunch box.
*Please have your child bring their school supplies on the first day.
*Please check your child's folder every night.
*I love to have conversations with parents throughout the year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I want to partner with you in order to best support your child!
