MESSAGE FROM EXECUTIVE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OF EPIC
Dear friends,
Welcome to 504: The Musical in concert! We are so thrilled to bring this bold, moving, and neuro-inclusive new work to the stage—not once, but twice this weekend.
Set against the backdrop of the 1977 San Francisco sit-in, 504 reimagines a turning point in the fight for disability rights through powerful storytelling and a soulful score inspired by 1970s R&B and pop. It’s a show about resistance, resilience, and the people who dared to demand more. And it's brought to life by an extraordinary cast of EPIC artists and collaborators.
This brand-new musical—written by the incredible Abbie Goldberg and Mason McDowell—is the result of deep passion, creativity, and a shared commitment to authentic, inclusive storytelling. We’re grateful for their trust, partnership, and vision in bringing a concert adaptation of 504 to the EPIC stage.
This production also marks the close of Disability Pride Month—a time to honor identity, joy, and the ongoing struggle for equity. At EPIC Players, we believe that theatre should reflect the full spectrum of human experience—and that everyone, regardless of disability or neurotype, deserves a place in the spotlight.
Thank you for joining us this weekend and for supporting the voices, stories, and talents that too often go unheard. Together, we’re we’re celebrating history and building a future where inclusion is the norm, not the exception.
Enjoy the show!
