ACT Math

The Math portion consists of 60 questions to be completed in 60 minutes. Strategy and calculator "know how" will be very important in this section.

Students should know that the questions begin difficult and get easier as the section progresses. If your student has anxiety or is timid with math, having them begin at the back of the section and then move toward the front may be a good strategy.

By the student's junior year, s/he should have completed the first two years of the ACe iT Plan created by the Math coaches. If not, please ensure your student begins with the calculator training before continuing with the junior level plan.

The TI-83/84 will only help the student if the student knows how to use it. Calculators can be detrimental to the student if the student is not properly trained and comfortable with using it.
