Welcome
Year 9 is an exciting and important year in your child’s education – particularly as we continue to adjust post lockdown and look forward to option choices and starting their GCSEs. Due to COVID19 restrictions around group meetings, these presentations replace our usual school based start of term guidance meetings.
At Elthorne Park High School, we aim to ensure that every student achieves their full potential, both academically and personally during their time at school. We are committed to supporting your child as they progress through each Key Stage. The broad curriculum and wide range of extra-curricular experiences on offer ensure that your child has a positive learning and personal development experience
We encourage all students to fully engage with our four core values: being proud of their achievements; prepared for learning; principled and persevering when learning and when engaging in the wider life of the school.
As a school, we understand the importance of working in partnership with parents. It is through our shared goals and effective communication that we can fully support your child’s learning. We have provided you with contact details for your child’s tutor and Year Leader.
The booklet below provides guidance and information for parents about the curriculum, key subject assessments and events that your child will experience this year. We hope this information will enable you to support your child throughout the academic year. We also provide information about the school’s pastoral procedures and ask that you discuss these with your child.

It has been a pleasure to start alongside this year group in year 7 and watch them grow and develop into the young adults they are today. Year 9 is a challenging year for many reasons but I am sure if we continue to work together they will continue to go from strength to strength.
Should you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me for further information and guidance.
