Classroom Orientation

Welcome to Mrs. Hull's Class

School Day: 8:40 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Students may arrive at school between 8:30 -8:40 a.m. Students should enter through the gym entrance of the school and go to the gym.

Students who arrive after 8:40 a.m. should check in with Mrs. Tucker at the office.

Early Dismissal Days: Students are dismissed at 2:25 p.m.

School Improvement Days: Students are dismissed at 12:30 p.m. Lunch will be served.

Lunch Money: Your child will be given a six digit lunch number. This number will be used until 8th grade! It is important that you work with your child on memorizing this number. The best way to help your child memorize the six digit number is to group it in double digits. For example, if the number is 142537, memorize the number as 14 - 25 - 37.

Snack/Drink: We do have a snack everyday in Kindergarten. Please send a snack from home on school days. I do allow water bottles all year, but they must be kept on our water desk outside of our room. Water bottles will be emptied at the end of the day in order to prevent spills on the ride home.

Class Behavior System and Rewards; We will be using a tracking system called Class Dojo. Each student will earn or lose point throughout the day according to their behavior choice. I will record their score at the end of the day and send it home in their green folder daily. Please initial each night. This helps me know that you have seen your child's Dojo points for the day. Please discuss with your child about his/her behavior each night.

Students will be able to visually see their daily score on our behavior chart in our classroom. Students will clip up or down depending on their behavior choices. As a parent or family member, you will be able to check in on your child throughout the day to see if they are making good or bad choices. At times, I will post updates, reminders and pictures to show you what we are doing in class.

Each student has their own page that only you and I can see, as well as a classroom page for all parents and myself to view. Our classroom is like a family. I believe everyone's successes should be celebrated!

Social/Emotional

I will be using Class Dojo videos to talk about social and emotional experiences as well. Kindergarten is a huge change and I want my students to know that what they are feeling is ok as well as how to deal with their feelings.

Daily Folders: Each student will be given a green daily folder to take home and return to school each day. This is a great way to help us all with communication!

Out of Class Subjects:

  • P.E. everyday ( please wear or bring tennis shoes)
  • Music: Tuesday, Friday and every third Wednesday
  • Library: Wednesday and Thursday

Parent Involvement

Please stay involved! Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns! I want you and your child to feel comfortable with school as well as in my classroom. If you would like to volunteer in the classroom, lunchroom, library or do something at home for our class, please let me know ahead of time. This way I can set something up for you.

Again, contact me if you have any questions, concerns or would like to volunteer!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Hull
