Carlos Ojeda Jr. has been called one of the most dynamic youth empowerment speakers in America today. A former university administrator, professor, and small business development center director, he now focuses his energy on empowering students to succeed by teaching them that their voice is their power. Combining his entrepreneurial spirit with his passion for changing the lives of youth across the country, he started CoolSpeak: The Youth Engagement Company.
SATURDAY PANELIST
Philip Lewis is a journalist from Detroit, Michigan. He is currently a senior front page editor at HuffPost. Prior to his role at HuffPost, he was a staff writer and programming editor at the millennial-based digital news outlet Mic in New York City. His journalism career began in 2015 as an editorial fellow for The Huffington Post in Washington, DC. He is the co-author of Schoolhouse Wreck: The Betsy DeVos story, an inside look into the life of the U.S. Secretary of Education. He was also a 2017 recipient of the prestigious Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellowship.

Theresa founded Coach TCry Consulting, LLC. in 2020. The goal as an independent college advisor is to build relationships with students and families as they navigate the process of discovery with major selection, college fit and making financially sound decisions. Theresa works to alleviate the stress and anxiety associated with the process. Theresa enjoys traveling to various campuses so that she is providing real life experiences when discussing them with families.

Bryan is on the board of directors for the United Way of Southeast Michigan. He is also on the board of directors for the Detroit/Wayne County Stadium Authority, the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority, and is Chairman of the Detroit Building Authority. He is a gubernatorial appointee to the State of Michigan Blue Ribbon Panel for Parks & Recreation spaces, as well as the Belle Isle State Park Advisory Board. Bryan is the treasurer for the Iron Belle Trail Board of Managers.
