The Stakeholders Committee (Phase 1) endorsed the 2015 PWR document as the profile of a Colorado high school graduate, to be used as the organizing principle for the performance assessment Graduation Guidelines Menu Option.
The Stakeholders Committee (Phase 1) endorsed the 2015 PWR document as the profile of a Colorado high school graduate, to be used as the organizing principle for the performance assessment Graduation Guidelines Menu Option.
Subsequently, the next two workshops (Phase 2: Defining a System) provided the opportunity for educators from different regions of Colorado to develop student performance outcomes, or observable behaviors, within and across the PWR competencies. They used their experience, as well as voices from the postsecondary and workforce world, to guide the development of these outcomes, for the following PWR competencies:

College and Career Readiness
The question of what defines college and career readiness is complex and controversial. The world is changing quickly, and many bright minds are trying to determine what young people need to know and do to be successful today. These resources are just a few that give insight into the national conversation on this topic, which could inform the draft performance outcomes for Colorado's graduating seniors. Educators developing the PWR performance outcomes were free to be informed by other sources coming directly from the voices of higher education and industry.

PWR Performance Outcomes and Standards Connections
Once the performance outcomes were developed, quality criteria and feedback applied, and outcomes revised, participants developed the below working draft "outcomes clusters" or content standards connections for their four focus PWR competencies. These competencies reached further synthesis in the next workshop and the document that reflects the most current revised outcomes with Colorado Academic Standards connections can be found here. The below document shows the first attempt at providing clear standards alignment to the PWR outcomes.
