NEWSWEEK READER’S CHOICE AWARDS (“Awards”) OFFICIAL RULES
SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE U.S. FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER.
1. ELIGIBILITY
The Awards are only open to those organizations that have been selected by Newsweek.
2. THE CATEGORY LISTS
Newsweek and its partners will select a panel of experts to select the initial list of businesses on the ballot. Every 2 weeks beginning November 2023 (exact date to be decided by Newsweek) and continuing until such time as Newsweek desires, Newsweek will publish an entrants list of up to 20 businesses, services or products by category for public voting to pick the Newsweek Reader’s Choice Winner (each a “Category List”). Once a Category List is published, voting will commence for 28 days for each Category List (“Voting Period”). At the end of the Voting Period, the voting will close and Newsweek will announce the businesses with the most votes as Reader’s Choice winners in their respective categories within 10 days. Newsweek will publish a list of winners.
3. VOTING
Entrants may share the Newsweek approved contest style badge and promote their entry in the Awards to their fans and followers, but cannot run a promotion / giveaway for votes. Entrants must stop using the Contest Badge once voting closes. An Entrant and its Directors, management, officers and employees are not eligible to vote for the Entrant in the Awards.
Voters must be at least 18 years old to vote in the Newsweek Reader’s Choice program. The Voting starts when the relevant Category List is published and ends 28 days later at 11:59 a.m. Eastern Time. Users are limited to one vote per person, per Contest List. The use of any automated voting system, bot, macro, script or vote manipulation is prohibited and any votes linked to this behavior will be void. Entrants are prohibited from offering prizes or other offers and inducements to the public to vote. This includes vote farming, fraudulent voting practices or inappropriate promotion to entice votes that would artificially inflate the businesses standing in the Newsweek Reader’s Choice program.
4. WINNERS AND PRIZE
Each Category List winner will be given the opportunity to purchase a license allowing them to use the Reader’s Choice Winners badge (“Winners Badge”). The use of the Winners Badge is subject to the terms of a separate trademark license agreement between Newsweek and the winner.
5. SPONSOR
The Newsweek Reader’s Choice Awards are run by Newsweek. The decisions of Newsweek for all aspects of the promotion, including but not limited to the final winners, are final and binding in all aspects. Newsweek will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to the Awards.
6. PARTICIPATION
Newsweek will use its reasonable endeavors to inform those Entrants that have been selected for participation in the Awards. By participating in the Awards, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. If you do not wish to participate please contact Newsweek at readerschoice@newsweek.com. Newsweek maintains final say in the voting and reserves the right to remove Entrants, votes or voters that attempt to manipulate or abuse the promotion in any way. Newsweek reserves the right to disqualify persons and businesses suspected of tampering with voting or abusing aspects of this Award.
