The Seattle Symphony, Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA), Central Washington University (CWU) and Anna’s Composer Database are proud to announce an instrumental conducting clinic for current music educators at the 2024 WMEA State Conference in Yakima, WA. The clinician for this inaugural year will be the Seattle Symphony Associate Conductor, Sunny Xia. Selected K–12 music educators will conduct a CWU chamber string ensemble and receive live feedback from Sunny. The clinic will be open to all WMEA conference attendees.
If you are interested in applying, applications are due November 3, 2023. 6 conductors will be selected to participate and recieve approx. 20 minutes to podium time with Sunny Xia. Applications are open to any Washington State instrumental conductor K-12.

The region event page is currently updated with what events have been coordinated by President Daisy Emans and contests hosts. We are still looking for hosts for some events - if you are interested and willing, please email Daisy ASAP so we can get everything hosted and organized!
Also, please be sure to check that the "Contact Us" page and notify Alyssa Kellar of any personnel changes you are aware that are not currently reflected on the website - contest hosts will email out contest information and registration using theses lists, and we do not want overlook anyone.

We have an amazing lineup of presenters this year, with topics that extremely relevant to current events and our online/hybrid formats.
