We are thrilled to announce the organization of a seminar series on "Design and Programming Cyber-Physical Systems and IoT Applications". The event consists of a series of talks given by worldwide renowned Professors. They will present current information and ongoing research within the topic – and we’d like to invite you to join the web conferences and the discussion!
Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are subset of embedded systems, where cyber processes read from and write to the physical world. Interactions with the physical world make these systems interdisciplinary and of a particular interest. Nowadays, CPS are at the core of human everyday life, such as vehicles, home, healthcare devices as well as industrial processes and transportation, among others. The combination of two contradictory requirements originating from the computational world (the cyber) and the dynamics world (the physical) makes the design of such systems sensitive and fragile. Adding the criticality criteria, designing such systems calls for the use of deterministic models, secure by construction approach and control over timing. CPS are composed of embedded computers that are connected via networks. Internet did play an important role for such connections, leading the way to the Internet of Things applications. Once information is collected in the Cloud, data mining and artificial intelligence techniques will lead to knowledge generation. The implications for research, development, and standards of CPS and IoT are to focus on effective design, security, and a unified perspective on both fields.
The target audience is junior and senior researches working in fields related to the topic. Still, participation is free and open to people from any background or institution.
