8 Years of Education
The PYP starts in Preschool and ends in Primary Grade 5.
Year 1 - Preschool 3-4 years old
Year 2 - PreK 4-5 years old
Year 3 - Kindergarten (Year 1 in British curriculum) 5-6 years old
Year 4 - Grade 1 (Year 2 in British curriculum) 6-7 years old
Year 5 - Grade 2 (Year 3 in British curriculum) 7-8 years old
Year 6 - Grade 3 (Year 4 in British curriculum) 8-9 years old
Year 7 - Grade 4 (Year 5 in British curriculum) 9-10 years old
Year 8 - Grade 5 (Year 6 in British curriculum) 10-11 years old

Six Transdisciplinary Themes - Units of Inquiry
An inquiry into the nature of the self; beliefs and values; personal, physical, mental, social and spiritual health; human relationships including families, friends, communities, and cultures; rights and responsibilities; what it means to be human.
An inquiry into orientation in place and time; personal histories; homes and journeys; the discoveries, explorations and migrations of humankind; the relationships between and the interconnectedness of individuals and civilizations, from local and global perspectives.
An inquiry into the natural world and its laws; the interaction between the natural world (physical and biological) and human societies; how humans use their understanding of scientific principles; the impact of scientific and technological advances on society and on the environment.
