Each month participating households receieve a food package to help them maintain a nutritionally balanced diet.
Participants may select from over 70 products including:
Frozen ground beef, beef roast and chicken
Canned meats, poultry and fish
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Canned fruits and vegetables
Canned soups and spaghetti sauce
Macaroni and cheese, pastas, cerals, rice and other grains.
Cheese and egg mix
Ultra high temperature (UHT) fluid low-fat milk, nonfat dry milk and evaporated milk
Flour , cornmeal, bakery mix and reduced sodium crackers
Low-fat refried beans, dried beans, canned beans, and dehydrated potatoes
Bottled juices and dried fruit
Peanuts and peanut butter
Vegetable oil and light buttery spread
REMINDER
House Holds are required to report the following changes within ten days of the date the change becomes known to the household:
Changes in income which would affect program eligibilty
All changes in household composition, such as the addition or loss of a household member
When cash on hand, stocks, bonds and money in the bank or savings institution reach or exceed a total of $3,250 for households with at least one elderly or disabled member or
$2,000 for house holds without any elderly or disabled members
