Keisuke Wagatsuma (CEO)

CEO ProfileI have over 15 years of experience in immunology, ranging from basic to applied research. I earned my Ph.D. from Kyoto University (Graduate School of Medicine), where I contributed the elucidation of mechanisms of immune cell differentiation based on molecular biology. After advancing my research as an assistant professor at Shiga University of Medical Science, I initiated and led various drug discovery projects for immune diseases as a Chief Research Scientist, developing numerous in vitro and in vivo disease models with high translational and clinical predictability at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma Corporation. Later, as a Project Manager and Senior Scientist at a biotech startup from the University of Tokyo, I led joint and in-house research projects in cell therapy and other fields. In September 2023, we co-founded ENIC Immunology.

事業内容/Our BusinessiPS細胞から免疫細胞サブセットを分化誘導する第二世代の革新的技術プラットフォームを基に、自社で研究開発パイプラインを推進する自社創薬と、製薬企業等へのライセンスを伴う共同の創薬研究開発のハイブリッド型のビジネスモデルを展開します。固形がん領域など、アンメットメディカルニーズの高い疾患に対して、「iPS細胞を活用した独自分化誘導技術 × 細胞エンジニアリング × 免疫学」の融合により、iPS細胞由来 Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR)-macrophageなどの新しい細胞医薬品をprimary focusとして、研究開発を行います。
We leverage an innovative platform for differentiating immune cells from iPSCs to drive our own research and development pipeline and collaboration with various partners. Our hybrid business model combines in-house pipeline for drug discovery with licensing our technology/pipeline to other companies.Our primary focus is on developing new cell-based therapies, such as iPSC-derived Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR)-macrophages, targeting diseases with high unmet medical needs. We integrate iPSC technology, cell engineering, and immunology in our research and development efforts.
