My name is Mr. Sean Stetler and this is my 13th year as an educator. I grew up right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, attended Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania, and spent 6 years teaching at a high school in the suburbs north of Philly. I've taught a variety of social studies subjects including World Cultures, World History, American History, Political Science, Psychology, Environmental Geography, AP European History, AP Psychology, and AP Human Geography. In 2018 I moved to Colorado with my wife, so this is my seventh year at Englewood High School; I love it here and plan to be part of the Pirate Family for the rest of my life!
Outside of teaching, there are two major passions that drive me. The first is running. I began competing in cross-country and track in high school and continued throughout college, eventually developing into a school record holder, multiple time conference champion, and NCAA Championship qualifier. I spent 5 years coaching Track in Pennsylvania and am currently the head Track and Cross-Country coach at Englewood High School. I also founded a community track club called Denver Athletics, and still compete whenever I can.
My second passion is world travel. Since I teach several courses about the world, I have made it a life mission of mine to explore as much of the globe as possible. Since beginning my teaching career I have traveled to over 30 countries and acquired a Master's Degree in International Relations from American University. A few highlights include: a summer teaching abroad in China, seeing the Taj Mahal in India, exploring Mayan ruins in Mexico and Guatemala, seeing the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, attending Oktoberfest in Germany, and trekking through Nepal to Mount Everest Base Camp. Consequently, I founded the International Travel Club at Englewood HS- We traveled to Costa Rica with 36 stuents last year and are preparing for a school trips to Italy in 2025 and Peru in 2026.
