Learning Target: The student will explore ramps and explore how the texture of the ramp affects how far the car rolls.
Questions to ask your child:
Were you correct?
Did that surprise you?
Why do you think that made it go farthest?
What could we change to make it go farther?
Ramps- Week 1, Home Learning
Learning Targets: The student will explore ramps and explore how the texture of the ramp affects how far the car rolls.
Their job is to test different types of ramps (eg. a hard book ramp, a soft pillow ramp, a bumpy bubble wrap ramp) and see how far the car or ball rolls with each type of ramp.
You can have them measure and record the data for an added math element.
Ramps- Week 2, Home Learning
Learning Target: The student will use what they learned about ramps last week to create the longest ramp they can.
The jobs today are:
1. Watch the video where we talk about ramps and read a book.
2. Create the longest ramp you can with whatever materials you have at home.
3. Write what you learned in your science journal.
