The recipe and instructions for the electropolishing of the tips are as follows:
Weigh out 20g of the Sodium Citrate onto a clean weigh boat
Measure out 400mL distilled/deionized water in a 500mL clean beaker
Add the 20g of Sodium Citrate to the 400mL of distilled/deionized water and stir until fully dissolved
Measure out 600mL of Glycerin into a clean 1L beaker
Add the 400mL of Sodium Citrate solution to the 600mL of Glycerin and mix thoroughly (be sure to stir well so there is no unmixed glycerin at the bottom of the beaker)
The etching solution is ready for use, fill the electropolishing unit’s vat (PCB etching fluid) to approximately ½” - ¾” from the top
Run the hole of the cut tips through a wire and have it lay across the tub of the mixture
Connect the ends of the wire to a DC power supply and test different currents for different time intervals heuristically
Initial issue with misalignment for the jeweler forceps. This was later corrected through iterative design changes
