How it Works
Assembly
Bevel tool → uniform beveled silicone pieces
Aligner tool → assemble workpiece layers
Heating
Hot plate → heat workpiece to ~150oC
Polyimide heating strips → heat rollers to ~150oC
Compression
Transfer workpiece to roller mill via tweezers
Ensure contact w/ rollers → friction with rollers “grabs” the cell package & pull it through at ~1 mm/s

Procedure
Silicone and U-aligner pieces cut with razor blade (not pictured)
Solar cell package heated to 150C on hot plate (not pictured)
Rolling machine to 135 - 150C using polyimide heating strips at 30W
Solar cell package assembled with U-aligner silicone piece to maintain layer alignment
Solar cell package passes through adjustable-height rollers to facilitate bonding between perovskite layers
Two pieces of single-use silicone apply pressure through compressive strain
