The goal of the clock project was to serve as an introduction to CAD tools (Fusion 360 and AutoCAD) as well as manufacturing and assembly techniques using the guide listed at https://sites.google.com/eng.ucsd.edu/cosmoscluster2/resources/clock-project. Additionally, the project taught two physics models of pendulum behavior, namely the point-mass and inertial models.
Analysis was done using Python code (https://github.com/techno-sam/pendulum_clock_calculations) and Working Model 2D to obtain a predicted period of 0.6199 seconds. Compared with an observed period of 0.705 seconds, a 12.06% error results.
