My design for my pendulum was a tulip. I thought the leaves and the top of the flower would be a simple design and would fit the clock since it was a vertical design. It was also more convenient to make symmetrical because I could out two leaves on each side of the tulip. The top of the pendulum and the escapement wheel were fixed parts of the design, but the bottom part was free for design.
