From the start I knew I wanted to do a cute cartoon animal, I ended up choosing a frog because I always like to draw little frogs doodles on my papers. Also I knew that I could draw one that was fairly symmetrical. The aspects of the clock which were fixed include the escapement wheel, and the top part of the pendulum, where the pendulum hits the wheel. These stayed fixed, as they were designed with precise measurement to ensure that the clock actually worked. Other aspects which were fixed include the base portion of the clock where everything was connected together. The bottom portion of the pendulum was free to design as I pleased, which is where I implemented the cartoon frog shape. The placement of the bolt holes was also open to be placed wherever I please, which is why I placed them in the stomach of my frog. By choosing a frog that sat almost symmetrical, the center of mass was very close to the center of my frog design.
