The CAD of the clock involved creating an escapement wheel and unique pendulum design. The dimensions of the escapement wheel were fixed, but the pendulum was up to us to design as long as it fit inside the given acrylic sheet. My pendulum design was the mask of Darth Vader since I'm a big Star Wars fan. I had to attach the design to the claws of the pendulum, meaning the design of the mask was a little bit off, but this was necessary because the pendulum had to have these claws for the escapement wheel to work. I also had to create bolt holes in the bottom of the mask to lower the center of gravity and make sure the pendulum was heavy enough to work properly as a pendulum and aid with the oscillation analysis.
This is a video of the Working Model 2D software along with the actual video of how the clock works. The video of Working Model 2D is not a file from WM2D because the exporting of the video was not working for me, so I took a phone recording instead.
