The PVC based gel actuator can be easily applied a glove style assistive device. By utilizing a tendon driven style design we can mimic the same way muscles generate motion and force in the fingers. This design can be used in therapeutic or assistive applications
The lines (green), held down by low friction retention points (blue), attach to the tips of the fingers (red). The lines are pulled via the actuators (light blue) mounted to the wrist.

Not only can this technology be used in assistive wear, but it can also see utilization in the field of entertainment. Where the forces generated by the actuator can be applied to a feedback system that allows for the sensation of touch in the virtual realm.
