After the two days of "discovering" what the project was, we had a pretty good idea of how different parts worked together, from blue bars to support the structure to laser cut parts to connect lego pieces to the other materials. We slowly started thinking of ideas based on our knowledge of the different parts. Below are two ideas that we thought of — one of which we scraped for a while but eventually incorporated. The Archimedes Screw was an idea we spent a lot of time developing and testing, since coding it was extremely difficult. The trampoline was a side project we built to test its function then destroyed, but the idea was later used as a mechanism after our Loop-the-Loop to slow the ball down. Our group's general creativity helped us continue to think of solutions to problems and new designs to build.
