Current Status - With the use of duct tape, the rings in chamber are keep falling off.
During last week, we have tested with rings mounted with the duct tape and they were falling off after few tests. Since our seam sealers and vinyl cement have arrived, we would be working with stitching our rings to the chamber. Since it is a process that requires a long period of time, we would be bring the chamber to our team's garage and work from there. After stitching the rings, we would set up our pressure sensor with Arduino to record pressure changes.
Goals for Next Week.
Stitching rings - Replace duct tape mounting with stitching.
Pressure sensor - Set up the sensor to record the negative pressure over time.
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting (03/02/21).
Ring Stitching - Use fishing line (or heavy-duty thread) to stitch rings. Stitch from inside to have a knot inside.
Waist seal replacement - Have different sizes of waist seal to accommodate more people.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting (03/04/21).
Fishing Line Types - Research on spider wire, spectra cord.
Pressure Sensor Resolution - Look up pressure sensor resolution.
Use of sewing machine - Consider using sewing machine to stitch neoprene to other fabrics such as mesh inside the chamber
Risks and Areas of Concern
