Iyasa Éboó

Supporting Iyasa youth to build literacy, share tech skills, and reclaim their language and culture!

A youth-led program to carry Iyasa language and culture into the future

When young people come together with technology, writing, and pride in their own language and culture, amazing things happen!

Learn more about the work being done by Iyasa Éboó ("Iyasa Forward"):

Reconnecting with language and culture

Knowing your Indigenous language is about more than words - for young people especially, it's been proven to improve physical and mental health, decrease addiction, and reduce suicide risk. Culture and language save lives.

Reading and writing in Iyasa

Reading and writing in your own language is powerful! Iyasa youth are passionate about writing in Iyasa, and sharing literacy skills.

Building & sharing tech skills

In Campo, Cameroon, there's not much opportunity for young people to get tech training.
Iyasa Éboó builds skills in using computers, audio/video recording, and creating digital media - and youth pass these skills on to their friends.

Strengthening bonds between youth and elders

Before Iyasa Éboó, young people often felt estranged from elders in language and culture work. Iyasa Éboó is helping rebuild those relationships, and encourage intergenerational collaborations.
