Dame Brown, Founder & Curator, US Navy Veteran
Dame Brown is a service-connected U.S. Navy disabled veteran and New Mexico transplant whose deep love for the landscapes, people, and creative energy of the East Mountains inspired her to establish Enchanted Soul Art | Creatives’ Gallery & Shop©. She envisioned a gallery that would not only showcase art — but also build community, support local artists, and celebrate the spirit of this mountain region.
As she shared during the 1-year Riibbon-cutting on October 1, 2025:
“While the East Mountains of New Mexico are breathtaking in their landscapes, what makes this place truly beautiful is the people who live, work and create here.”
Under her guidance, Enchanted Soul has become a platform for independent artists, a bridge between rural and urban communities, and a hub for cultural and economic growth. Programs like the youth mentorship and internship program (ages 14–20) and community food drives have already benefited hundreds of local families, creating tangible social impact.
Guiding Values:
• Community-centered collaboration
• Respect for local heritage and place
• Inclusion and accessibility
• Sustainable creative economy

Enchanted Soul embodies a personal, adaptive, and hands-on small business culture, guided entirely by Dame Brown. As owner, operator, and curator, she shapes every decision — from artist selection to seasonal programming — reflecting the gallery’s mission of equity, inclusion, and community impact.
Our approach is relationship-driven: we cultivate long-term connections with artists, neighbors, youth, and East Mountains businesses, while adapting operations to the rhythms of the community and the seasons. Through thoughtful curation, mentorship programs, public art initiatives, and collaborative events, Enchanted Soul demonstrates how a small, independently-run business can be a sustainable engine of creativity, culture, and economic opportunity in a rural mountain community.
Enchanted Soul exists to enrich the East Mountains through art, culture, and connection. Every program is designed to support both creators and community members, making art accessible, inclusive, and impactful.
Key initiatives include:
• Youth mentorship and internship program (ages 14–20)
• Curated exhibitions featuring local, Indigenous, and New Mexico-based artists
• Seasonal markets, literary events, and immersive exhibits
• Public art projects and community food drives
We partner with organizations and local businesses such as Tinkertown, Triangle Grocery, The Indy, Ujima Collective, and the Albuquerque Office of Equity & Inclusion to amplify our programs and foster a network of collaboration.
By prioritizing sustainability, community engagement, and inclusivity, Enchanted Soul ensures that art is woven into the fabric of the community — not just displayed on gallery walls.
Winter Closure:
The gallery is closed from December 24 through early April each year to align with community rhythms and seasonal weather in the East Mountains. Reopening dates are announced publicly.
During closure, Enchanted Soul maintains engagement through social media updates and outreach to local partners.
In a rural mountain community with a small population but deep creative energy, Enchanted Soul acts as a hub for cultural connection, economic opportunity, and community empowerment. By integrating art into everyday life and creating pathways for youth, artists, and neighbors, the gallery turns creativity into a shared resource — enchanting souls while building a sustainable, community-driven arts ecosystem.
