Ensembles

Marching band is our primary focus throughout Fall season. This group will apply musical skills alongside tactical movement, such as marching and dancing, in cooperation with the Colorguard to piece together a unique field show.  Marching Band will travel to compete in the SCSBOA against various marching bands.  Additionally, the group presents itself out in the stands during football home games, playing various upbeat pep tunes for the audience.

Taking place after Fall marching season, the Concert Band ensemble will perform a wide variety of classic and modern concert repertoire for festivals and community events.

Wind Ensemble, an advanced group of musicians, perform advanced concert repertoire and various other compositions. During the Spring season, this group will travel across the country, performing in venues like Carnegie hall and more, to compete against different ensembles from accross the country.

The orchestra specializes in string music primarily made up of the violin, viola, cello, bass, and piano. Students prepare themselves for concerts and competitions through rehearsals, performance tasks, and additional instruction during after-school hours.

As a combination of both the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble groups, Symphonic Band comes together to perform music pieces for festivals and other events, ranging from classical pieces to more modern, well-known arrangements.

Indoor drumline is a competitive performing art which brings talented students together to showcase the musical and visual effect through instruments and choreography. This form of art is heavily composed of drums and keyboards to illuminate a story. Unlike marching band, drumline sets in a gymnasium to give the audience a more intimate experience.

Winter guard sets the stage indoors, performing and dancing with a variety of flags and props alongside prerecorded songs. Arroyo’s winter guard competes in a regional level here in California called WGASC and in an international level with WGI. As of 2023, winter guard competes in Open Class where finals for WGI takes place in Dayton, Ohio.
