The following assignments are due on the first day of school on Monday, August 19. Do not begin until you have completed registration and you see AP US History with Ms. Michelle Ban on your schedule. You will need your textbook to complete the assignment.
Chapter 1 Packet
Read Chapter 1 of your textbook - By the People: A History of the United States. You can type your responses on this Google Doc or print the assignment and handwrite your responses. Answer the questions in bullet points or complete sentences on the left column/side only.
Do not fill out the right column/side labeled "Class Notes". You will fill this out on the first day of school.
You may reference this video if you need further instructions or clarification.
If you do not have access to a textbook, email Ms. Ban at michelle.ban@emuhsd.org immediately.

Pre-Columbian Tribes Chart
After completing the Chapter 1 Packet, fill out the Pre-Columbian Tribes Chart by highlighting similarities and major features of each tribal region and inserting image(s) that best reflect those features.
This assignment must be submitted on Google Classroom before class begins on the first day of school.
Chapter 1 Short Answer Questions
Once Google Classroom is up, I will post the Chapter 1 Short Answer Questions assignment via Google Form. You can begin working on this assignment on this Google doc and copy/paste your responses once the Google Form is live.

I graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor's degree in United States History, and I earned my Master's degree in Teacher Education from Claremont Graduate University. I served as Teacher of the Year for both the El Monte Union High School District and Los Angeles County in the 2022-2023 school year. This is my 17th year at Rosemead High School, and I am so proud of be a Panther!
I love cats, black coffee, Taylor Swift, baking bread, and reading books. My family consists of my gamer husband, two adorable cats, my needy dog, and my daughter Sophia! I look forward to getting to know the Class of 2027. It's going to be a great year!
