Geographical, financial and digital barriers have long created inequities, leaving many kura, kaiako, and ākonga systemically underrepresented or misrepresented. Our teacher group advocates for equitable access to resources, opportunities, and support, ensuring every learner and educator, regardless of location or circumstance, has a fair chance to thrive in education.
Curriculum and NCEA changes spark healthy debate but can sometimes turn negative and personal, causing fewer parties to join the discussion. This can leave kura, kaiako, and the aspirations of their ākonga excluded. Our group fosters safe, inclusive discussions to recapture all voices, ensuring diverse perspectives are valued and everyone is fairly represented in shaping education’s future.

Cost often creates barriers for ākonga, whānau, and kura to access quality resources. Our group is a space for kaiako, especially from High Equity Index (HEI) kura, to share and access high-quality learning and assessment resources. With scaffolding and contextualisation, these resources engage and inspire ākonga from HEI kura, supporting their schooling and post-schooling aspirations.
