It's 2026, and many are looking back at this past year and recognizing how much has shifted. Many individuals are processing changes, loss and grief, or major life transitions. For others, you're dealing with ongoing uncertainty, burnout, or a low-grade heaviness that’s hard to put into words. With continued instability, collective grief, and the everyday demands of life, finding a sense of peace can feel difficult—sometimes even impossible.
Still, even amid all this change, one truth holds steady: there is HOPE and you can make it through!
Let’s take a moment together.
Breathe in deeply through your nose for four seconds, hold for four, then slowly exhale for six.
Now, take another deep breath and imagine breathing in calm—and letting go of anxiety, doubt, and fear.
Feel your shoulders soften. Relax your arms, back, and legs. Unclench your jaw and relax your brow.
And then smile—you’ve done something powerful. You took a moment for yourself. You are unique, deeply loved, and wonderfully designed by God.
Some people still find it hard to express what they feel. Others may even feel angry with God or distant from Him. That’s okay. You don’t have to hide what’s in your heart—He can handle it.
God created your emotions, and even Jesus felt the full weight of human emotion. He wept when Lazarus died (John 11:35). He felt overwhelmed in Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36–46). He showed righteous anger when the temple was misused (Mark 11:15).
No matter what your faith background is, please know this: your emotions matter. You matter. And while this season may still hold uncertainty, there is also space for healing, growth, and peace to find you again.
When life feels uncertain or overwhelming, it helps to have a simple way to pause and return to the present moment. One gentle and effective tool that I love is the S.T.O.P. practice, a mindfulness technique inspired by the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn.
It’s a small but powerful way to reconnect—with your breath, your body, and God’s presence.
S — Stop.
Pause whatever you’re doing. Be still for a moment and give yourself permission to just be.
T — Take a breath.
Breathe in slowly and exhale gently. Feel your body begin to calm.
O — Observe.
Notice what’s happening inside and around you. What are you feeling? What are you thinking? Observe without judgment.
P — (Plan and then) Proceed.
Make a plan and then move forward with intention. Ask yourself, What’s the next right step I can take from a place of peace instead of pressure?
Practices like this help us slow down and make space to hear from God, rather than operating from a place of fear. It's time to release worry and find your peace in the journey.
