2019 Annual Report

EMMAUS ALUMNI ARE IMPACTING THE WORLD FOR CHRIST IN THEIR MINISTRIES, PROFESSIONS, AND COMMUNITIES.

Our Mission

God is at work through your gifts to equip a new generation of Christian leaders for worldwide service and eternal impact. You play a significant role in the Emmaus journey. We are grateful for your prayers, referrals, and financial gifts so that students can receive a valuable biblical education at Emmaus Bible College. It is a great privilege to educate and equip our students as we live and learn together in this Christ-centered environment.

A WORD FROM PRESIDENT BOOM

Thank you once again for your passion to Impact the World for Christ through the work of Emmaus Bible College! This year has been filled with stories of those who are serving the Lord for His glory all over the world. I’d like to share a few of them.

This past spring, I was blessed to visit with alumna, Mrs. Saloma Martin Smith (class of ’49, Toronto). Her story is one of courage, determination and service for the Lord Jesus Christ. Her life’s work encompassed teaching English as a second language (ESL) in the inner city of Toronto for 20 years, followed by long years of service to her Lord in Pakistan and Nepal. It is always amazing to see generations of alumni serving the Lord all over the globe!

Daniel and Anne Johnson are more recent graduates, serving the Lord in Burundi, Africa. The Johnsons were commended to a ministry of Bible teaching and training at the Timothy Bible School, and have recently opened a school for deaf children in Gisuru. Danny majored in Bible Exposition and Theology, and Annie in Bible/Theology and Nursing.

We ended the 2019 fiscal year in good financial shape once again, with a small operating surplus. We praise God for how He is able to further His work through Emmaus Bible College.

Thank you once again for faithfully helping to sustain the work of the Lord.

OUR VISION

We desire for Emmaus Bible College to be flourishing, relevant, and accessible as a trusted name for transformational learning rooted in biblical truth.

Emmaus students rely on us to help prepare them to impact the world for Christ in their ministries, professions, and communities.

Coby Coyle

Secondary Education Major | President, Student Union

My time here has been such a growing experience. Transferring in from a secular university, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at the love and compassion the faculty and staff show toward the students here. We are more than a number or a name on an attendance sheet, we are brothers and sisters in Christ. During my time at Emmaus, I have not only been trained to be a future teacher, but I have been discipled to become a better ambassador for Christ in whatever field I may end up in after graduation. I have learned more about myself, how to serve my community, and most importantly, I have learned so much more about the God that I love because He first loved me.

Thank you for your support of the students at Emmaus Bible College, and for giving us the opportunity to grow and to learn more about God, His Word, and how to serve Him effectively in the professional world.“

Jennifer Matenaer ‘18 | Intercultural Studies

“My time at Emmaus Bible College was not only an excellent education—it was a life-changing experience. From taking classes with professors who really care about you to late-night conversations in the dorms with long-lasting friends, my time at Emmaus was unforgettable.”

Sam George ‘17 | Computer Information Systems

“I’ve used knowledge and skills from nearly every computer class I took at Emmaus in my ministries and job. The Bible classes allowed me to enter advanced placement at the MDiv program which I’m currently completing part-time. Emmaus gave me depth in both fields.”
