We have developed a comprehensive plan to repair, maintain, and upgrade the existing facility so that it glorifies God and serves the community of believers and the surrounding area for years to come. That plan is extensive. It includes work that must be contracted out and work that can be accomplished by members. Our leadership team has prioritized the work in this plan giving highest priority to matters of safety and items that will enhance our ability to accomplish our mission to bring Jesus to people and people to Jesus. This page explains the highest priority projects, the do it yourself projects and the completed projects and invites you to join us in prayer that according to God's will all these projects would be accomplished soon.
The existing fire panel is 24 years old and no longer works which means that the fire department is not automatically notified if something happens in the building. This significanatly increases the chance of damage. The new panel costs $22,000. Since this is so important we replaced it even though we did not have the money in the budget. Scroll down to see the result!
Our location at the intersection of busy streets means that thousands of people see our facility every day. Unfortunately, we have been unable to change the message on the electronic sign at the corner for almost a year which means we cannot communicate the love of Jesus with all those people. A CPU needs to be replaced. Repairs will cost $5,000.
The air conditioning unit for our sixth grade classroom is struggling. Please pray that it provides cooling for the rest of the school year. When this unit fails we will have to replace it because there is no other source of cooling for these students.
We currently have five light fixtures. The underground wires have several shorts in them which means that one light doesn't work at all and the others don't work when it rains. This is a safety issue. Lighting enhances safety, deters crime and improves visitor experience. The lights must be rewired or replaced. This will cost over $20,000.
The window frame in the North Transept window needs to be replaced. The existing frame has extensive rot in it which places the window and the wood behind it at risk. The frame needs to be removed and replaced. This job requires carpentry gifts and about 20 hours to complete.
There are several trees on the property that need to be trimmed or taken down. We're looking for volunteers who are gifted with a chainsaw and can work with others to clean up the property.
The sacristy gets used by the Altar Guild to prepare for the Lord's Supper, by the acolytes as they serve the Lord and is the home of the sound system. The rooms is in need of some TLC. In particular the walls and ceiling need to be cleaned and painted. Cabinets need to be repaired or replaced. Volunteers are needed who can do cabinetry work, design work, cleaning, and painting.
We are blessed to have a cleaning crew that cleans up regularly. But we need volunteers who will do deep cleaning inside and out. The outside of the building needs to be power washed. The inside has areas that need special attention. Volunteers are needed who have a power washing machine and will work with others outside. Other volunteers are needed with time to clean inside.
Praise the Lord that we were able to get the new panel installed. For the first time in several years this panel is fully functional interfacing with the sprinklers, smoke detectors, pull stations, strobes, horns and fire department to provide protection for the entire facility! The job was completed for $14,000! Praise the Lord! But it's $14,000 we don't have in our budget.
