On April 4, 2011, it was announced that One HD will begin to air more general entertainment programming alongside sport, especially shows targeted at an older male audience, and would also be rebranded as One, due to unsustainable overheads associated with operating the station as an "all-sport" outlet. The adjustments were made on May 7, 2011, in order to make the channel a stronger rival against 7mate, which has a similar scope.

Films from 20th Century Fox shared with the Nine Network, Fox Searchlight Pictures, Columbia Pictures shared with the Seven Network, Regency Enterprises, TriStar Pictures shared with the Seven Network, Universal Pictures shared with the Seven Network, and Paramount Pictures shared with the Nine Network are among the titles available.
June 2012, One was switched of Analouge TV and moved to channel 1 Digital as One SD simulcast
One was reduced to standard definition as a result of the revival of Ten HD on March 2, 2016.
When Ten discontinued the "CC" icon in the mid-2000s, One transitioned from Supertext to Network Ten's Closed Captioning logo on April 13, 2016.

With both One and Eleven being given to the WIN Network (as of 2017) One's channel number gets moved to channel 81
