MES DEBATE COMMUNITY REGISTRATION PAGE HAS BEEN OPENED
Dear MES debaters, coaches, judges, and enthusiasts,
We are delighted to announce that MES DEBATE 2021 Online is going to take place on May 17, 2021.
We, as the secretariat, organise this tournament in hopes of delivering the participants an opportunity to discuss and elaborate on emerging controversial topics while enhancing their communication and language skills. It is our utmost intention that the participants leave the tournament with an open mind and the ability to think critically about a divisive subject before choosing a stance.
This year will be our second time holding a debate tournament and it will be carried out via Zoom, the teleconferencing software. The winners will be rewarded with various prizes.
If you're interested in taking part in the tournament, form your own team consisting of 3 or 4 members and inform your debate coach/English teacher. So they could fill the form on the registration page.
If you have any questions directed to the secretariat, feel free to email us (mesdebate@eminsaracaihl.com).
What is MES DEBATE?
MES DEBATE is an annual English Debate Tournament among MES High School students, organized by MES Debate Secretariat. Our purpose is to provide a space for students to develop self-confidence and express themselves in another language. We believe it will have long-term benefits to participate in these types of activities where their ideas are challenged and they have to come up with a rational response to defend what they believe is true.
This year, due to the current circumstances, the tournament will be carried out via Zoom, and will be following World Schools Debate Format, which you can learn more about on our page titled "Debating" and to get information on how the rules will apply to MES Debate 2021, visit "Rules&Guidelines".
This website is created so that the participants are well-informed about how the tournament will carry out. So do not hesitate to read through the content we put together in order for you to have a better debating experience.
We look forward to seeing you in the tournament!
