- What are the differences between file extensions svg, & ai? What circumstances require files in each format?
- What are scalable vector graphics? How is working with svgs different than editing pixels?
- What is a clipping mask? How can you use it effectively in designs?
- How can you convert a hand-drawing to a scalable vector graphic? How do you trace images effectively and accurately? When might you want to use this skill in graphic design?
- How closely can you replicate a business card?
- How can you use Illustrator to create infographcis? How do you cite resources professionally?
- How do you edit paths and nodes to create custom shapes?
Throughout the course, we used Google Slides to organize and communicate lessons. Jen and Kendra took turns weekly preparing lessons. For months, we were virtual and flipped all of our instructional content, so early content had a lot of videos. So many of our students had unreliable Internet or unpredictable sleeping habits. Flipping instructional content removed barriers.
Later in the year, we didn't know from week to week if we would be in person or not. We found a groove for the whole year by creating slide decks with timed agendas and embedded instructional content. Sometimes, the lessons were for virtual school. Sometimes, they were designed for live instruction.
Below, we've shared a couple of our slide decks that feature lessons where we dived deep into technology standards which augmented our graphic design content.
