How do I know if my student is in-district or out-of-district?
Students whose home address is within Eminence city limits are considered in-district.
When can I apply for the upcoming school year?
Applications are accepted beginning February 1.

No. There is no charge to attend.
What is the application review process?
Once received, student records are requested from the current school district (when applicable). Applications
are reviewed by the Superintendent and administrative staff as needed. You will be contacted by phone once a
decision has been made.
What does “independent” mean in Kentucky schools?
Independent districts are governed by a local board of education and serve students within specific city or
town boundaries rather than an entire county.
Can my student transfer mid-year?
Yes. Out-of-district applications may be reviewed at any time during the school year.
How long does the approval process take?
There is no set timeframe, as each application is reviewed individually.
Can I apply for only one of my children?
We prefer to review applications for all students in a family at the same time, as this helps streamline the
decision process.
Do approved students need to reapply each year?
No. Reapplication is only required if your address changes or if you have a new student enrolling.
