My story

I started my journey when a friend asked me to be the celebrant at her funeral. It was not something I had considered before but I found the whole process to be so meaningful and so full of love that it was clear to me I wanted to support more people, their friends and their families at such an important moment in their lives.

What makes this offer of end-of-life celebration and memorial so special to me is being able to create something that representative of the dead while supporting their loved ones to find space to access the love and the grief they're experiencing.

I could not recommend Em more highly as a celebrant. Before our friend passed away, Em supported her and her loved ones in preparing arrangements and recording her wishes for her funeral with a lot of tact and care, while also respecting the sensitive and complex circumstances of her situation. 

At the funeral, Em made an incredibly difficult day a little easier with the right words and intentions, and by handling everything with such care, thoughtfulness, support, sense of community, and love. They changed my perception of what a funeral could look and feel like through their emphasis on celebrating the unique and amazing person we lost and on the grief and love for her that united us all.
