The ever-popular City of Frankenmuth draws millions of visitors every year. It is one of the most lovable and popular tourist destination in the state of Michigan. But it hasn't always been. Join us on this riveting journey through the past and discover how this booming city grew up from the "little Bavaria".
Currently there are nearly five thousand people living in Frankenmuth, but in the beginning there were less than twenty brave "Emergency Helpers". That was the name given to the volunteers recruited by Pastor Johann Loehe in Bavaria, Germany in 1841. That is where our story begins, with a passionate Lutheran pastor in Germany who received a cry from help from a pastor already in America.
