This conference will provide early-career researchers and graduate students, as well as established researchers, with access to cutting edge tools and ideas needed to explore the fruitful, new, and evolving area of strong matrix properties modeled on the Strong Arnol’d Property. These new strong properties have also energized significant progress in the study of related matrix invariants, such as maximum multiplicity of an eigenvalue and minimum number of distinct eigenvalues, and they have led to new connections with graph minors and graph propagation procedures. Additional connections have also given rise to new matrix theory questions and results; new forbidden minor characterizations; new minor-monotone graph parameters; and new graph theoretic questions and results.
Registration. All are welcome, but travel support is limited, so please apply for travel support (see below) if needed and only register ($50) if certain you can attend. NSF funds will support our principal lecturers and participant travel while the small registration cost will help defray amenities during the conference. Register here.
Financial Support. Although the original deadline to apply for financial support has passed, additional funds of up to $700 (US) may be available for a few more participants, and decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. Apply here.

Travel. Eastern Michigan University is in Ypsilanti, Michigan, USA. Flights are recommended to Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), which is a 20-minute drive from campus.
Campus Parking…is in flux, as EMU parking had been outsourced to a private company, but is being reaquired by EMU. More info will be provided when available. Alternative transportation to campus is possible (more on that with hotel information).
Ann Arbor Regent Hotel. Block of rooms reserved and can be booked here. Limited morning shuttle to EMU and evening shuttle to hotel. Can also take the 4 Washtenaw Local bus along Washtenaw Avenue to/from campus.
Days Inn or Quality Inn & Suites. About as inexpensive as it gets, but probably for a reason. Both across the street from the Ann Arbor Regent. Can take the 4 Washtenaw Local bus along Washtenaw Avenue to/from campus.
Room Sharing: If interested in sharing a room at one of these hotels with another conference participant, please email the organizer to be put in touch with other like-minded folks.
Ypsilanti Hotels. Three grouped together south of campus: Eagle Crest Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites, and Hampton Inn & Suites. City bus to campus available but requires a transfer from bus 46 to bus 4 at the Ypsilanti Transit Center (or a few additional blocks of walking).
Ann Arbor Hotels. Many options, but most do not have any easy public transportation to EMU. Some exceptions close to the Blake Transit Center or Central Campus Transit Center (University of Michigan), such as the Bell Tower Hotel, could utilize the 104 Wastenaw Express bus to EMU.
