Daily Journalism (4 credits)

Prerequisite: JR103 Digital Journalist and sophomore standing.

• Demonstrate the ability to find news stories in a variety of communities, some unlike your own.
• Quickly background topics, identify relevant story angles, craft single-sentence focus statements, and pitch compelling stories to editors.
• Cultivate a network of reliable sources, using social media, attending meetings, and conducting oneself in a professional, respectful manner.
• Use the principles of visual literacy to effectively tell stories.
