Africa's development challenges require solutions that leave no one behind. Yet many organizations operate without intentional inclusion strategies, inadvertently excluding women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities from opportunities and benefits.
Simultaneously, funders and stakeholders increasingly demand evidence of impact. Organizations that cannot demonstrate measurable results struggle to attract investment, retain donor confidence, or scale their operations - regardless of their good intentions.

Inclusive economies thrive when all actors - large, small, and informal - are able to participate productively. Micro and informal entrepreneurs are not only vital suppliers and distributors for larger businesses but also future customers whose purchasing power fuels wider markets. Strengthening their role delivers both micro- and macro-level benefits, creating ripple effects across entire ecosystems.
While financial inclusion has expanded access to essential services, microfinance and increasingly digital credit also carry risks when accessed without the skills to manage money effectively.
This is where digital business development services (BDS) add value: offering affordable scale, inherent quality control, and the knowledge to build an analytical mindset.
It is this intersection of finance, capability, and inclusion that will frame our discussion in this session of the workshop.
To equip participants in:
Understanding the role of micro and informal entrepreneurs in fostering inclusive economic growth.
Applying digital business development services to improve financial management and mitigate risks in microfinance and digital credit.
Inclusive Ecosystem and why it matters
The role of financial inclusion and moving from access to usage
