Mrs. Sara Linda Howard
Mrs. Sara Linda (Ashby) Howard was born in Wiliamsburg, Virginia and attended Bruton Heights School and Berkeley High School. Mrs. Howard has served the community in many capacities, including as Vice-President of the NAACP-YJCW Chapter.

In the Civil Rights Era, the gathering of families and community members on the main thoroughfare in support of the Black students in the segregated school system was a poignant display of community pride and support for education.
